Just 4 Youth in partnership with Stockton Borough Council and the Regional Youth Work Unit is planning and delivering a young person led regional conference on information, advice and guidance from a young person’s perspective.
The 14-19 Commission for the North East set up a Youth Advisory Board to collect the opinions and experiences of young people from across the region. The Board consists of 9 young people, all from different areas, backgrounds and educational levels.
Along side the youth advisory board are two youth coordinators, Laura Wright of Just 4 Youth, based in Middlesbrough, and Neil Burke of Regional Youth Work Unit, based in Gateshead, who are working to ensure the needs of the young people are met.
To date, the Youth Advisory Board has designed a virtual portal, collected case studies from young people, had training to become the leaders of the future.
The conferene will enable the young people to present their findings to date, to an adult audience through a workshop on the information, advice and guidance young people receive, along with a demonstration of the virtual portal.
