The LSC's 14-19 Regional Youth Advisory Board, established in 2008 and
co-ordinated by Laura Wright from Just 4 Youth, and Neil Burke from the Regional Youth Work Unit has been given the go ahead to continue its work for another year. Not only this, the work of the Board will now be expanded with the set up of two new sub-regional groups which will meet on a monthly basis and which will expand the number of young people involved in the programme - doubling participation from 12 currently, to 24 later in the year.
The Sub Groups will also be developing a Parent Support Toolkit for the 14-19 agenda which will help parents work with young people to decide on thei diploma choices. Two events are also planned this year, one in the North and one in the South of the region.
