Just 4 Youth has been chosen to consult with young people across Durham, Darlington, Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland, as part of a major alcohol consultation programme from the Department for Children, Schools & Families.
The DCSF is consulting on alcohol guidance and advice available to parents and young people to help them make informed choices about drinking. The Department wants to hear from parents, young people and those working with children in health and other services, on whether they understand the medical guidance, and whether they think the advice will help them make good decisions and support their children to make healthy choices.
As part of Just 4 Youth's consultation, the team will be working with one group of young in Darlington and 3 in County Durham facilitating workshops to get young people's views. A report and DVD will also be produced.
Our work in Middlesbrough will involve two focus groups with vulnerable and disadvantaged young people, as well as a town-wide consultation event at Middlesbrough Football Club on 26th March between 7pm and 9pm. Anyone wanting to attend this event, should contact Abi Fields.
Details of our work in Redcar & Cleveland to follow.
