Just 4 Youth is working with Stockton Borough Council and the Regional Youth Work Unit to put together a young person led regional conference on information, advice and guidance from a young person’s perspective.

The 14-19 Commission for the North East set up a Youth Advisory Board to collect the opinions and experiences of young people from across the region. The Board is made up of 9 young people, all from different areas, backgrounds and educational levels.

Along side the youth advisory board are two youth coordinators, Laura Wright of Just 4 Youth, based in Middlesbrough, and Neil Burke of Regional Youth Work Unit, based in Gateshead, who are working to make sure that the needs of the young people are met.

So far the Youth Advisory Board has designed a virtual portal, collected case studies from young people, and had training to become the leaders of the future.

At the conferene, young people will present their findings to an adult audience through a workshop on the information, advice and guidance young people receive, along with a demonstration of the virtual portal.
