Just 4 Youth's Speak Out Be Heard programme lets young people in West Middlesbrough have their say about the things that they don't like about their area - problems with anti social behaviour, not enough to do, or not enough on information available on some issues. Speak Out Be Heard takes these problems and works with the young people involved to come up with solutions to the problems - solutions which meet the needs of young people, not what adults think they should be doing. Projects which have already come out the programme have been Catwalk Queens and Pimp My Bike which have run in Whinney Banks and benefitted from funding from Just 4 Youth's YOUTHBANK.
New projects which are now running thanks to Speak Out Be Heard and YOUTHBANK, are:
Drugs Awareness Course - helping young people in Newport learn about issues around drugs. This came about because young people in this area said they didn't have enough awareness around drugs issues. Contact Nathan_james@wmnt.co.uk for more information.
Beauty Babes - More details to follow. Contact Samantha_day@wmnt.co.uk for more information.
Beat the Stereotypes - Being delivered across West Middlesbrough with the Youth Offending Service. Contact Nathan James at Just 4 Youth for more information.
